An actor, stand up, and comedy improviser, Steve has worked with Scratch, Dogface, Improvedy and is a longstanding member of The Intellectual Hooligans, Norfolk’s longest running improv group, who perform regularly throughout East Anglia, including the Maddermarket Theatre, Cafe Marzano, Fisher Theatre, Epic Studios, St George Theatre and The Sheringham Little Theatre. He was co-creator of The Reduced Edinburgh Fringe Improv Show, which ran for six years to sold out audiences at the Pleasance Edinburgh.

Steve also performs regularly with improvised murder mystery company The Foul Players, and has also worked with Twisted Reality, Strange Fascination, Murder Mystery Events, and he created and performed in improvised Fawlty Towers dining experience shows at the Fisher Theatre.

Steve was a stand-up comedian for many years, performing at clubs throughout the UK and three times performed in shows at Edinburgh’s Gilded Balloon with Simon Evans, Natalie Haynes, Lucy Porter, Howard Read, Dan Antapolski and others.  He was a finalist in The Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award, and is an accomplished compere who has run clubs in Manchester, London and Norwich.

Steve wrote and performed one man play Picking Bones, which toured throughout the UK, including The Green Room, Manchester; the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh, the Platform 4 Festival Exeter; the New End Theatre, London, and many more.

A member of the Comedians Theatre Company, Steve has written for several of their shows, including Radio 4 series Making The Best Of It.  He has written 80+ episodes of BBC1 drama and many plays and series for Radio 4, including adaptations of The Princess Bride and The Man Who Fell To Earth. His film credits include Breaking The Bank starring Kelsey Grammer, and in 2024 he wrote Siobhan McSweeney’s presenters’ script for Mozilla’s Rise25 Awards at Dublin’s International Conference Centre.
